THE ULTIMATE DUCATI EXPERIENCE
The first-ever road-going MotoGP replica, the Desmosedici RR is a dream of performance and technology derived directly from Ducati's experience in MotoGP. Launched at the 2006 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, the RR is a direct descendant of the Grand Prix race winning Ducati Corse Desmosedici GP6; the same bike on which Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau competed in the 2006 MotoGP World Championship.
The aerodynamic body design faithfully reflects that of the Desmosedici GP6 as does the color scheme, components, and materials used in the RR's construction. The power of the Borgo Panigale factory engineer built four-cylinder Desmodromic engine leaves no doubt: the Desmosedici RR is basically a MotoGP racing machine.
Having generated a tremendous response since the reservation process began on June 2nd 2006, the project is currently in the industrialization phase and, as previously announced, will be a limited edition motorcycle. The RR is scheduled to arrive in July 2007 with Ducati 999R owners receiving delivery priority.
Ducati has once again demonstrated the courage, passion and ability to directly transfer their racing experience to a machine that is destined for road use. With the Desmosedici RR, Ducati has redefined what a race replica can, and should be.
